Welcome to the new Creativity Hacker. If you remember the old site, things will look very different this time around, but there’s method beneath the madness. Follow me down below the fold to find out how I’m organizing things this time around. And more importantly, why.
Privacy
I collect no information other than what you choose to share in the comments. Since those are public, be aware that whatever you say here, you are saying to the world.

Advertising
You won’t see any 3rd-party advertising here. No banner ads, no pop-up ads, no promotional discounts. I don’t even use affiliate links.
Promotion of my own stuff will be limited to an update notice when a launch or campaign happens, which is unlikely to be more than three or four times per year. They’ll be just like any other update, posted to the relevant project feed. And I suppose it might also get mentioned in the marketing theme if there’s something interesting about how I’m launching it.
As for you, a casual mention of a product or service you offer is fine, if:
-
it’s mentioned in the context of a relevant conversation, and
-
it happens infrequently, and
-
it’s not one of the first things you say after joining.
Violations will be met with the same ban-hammer rules as decency violations below. (Because aggressive self-promotion is a decency violation.)
Decency
I am intolerant of intolerance, belligerence, disingenuous argument, etc. You’re in my house and, as such, I feel a sense of duty to ensure that my guests all feel comfortable and safe.
So please be respectful of all backgrounds, opinions, and experience levels - including ignorance (of the “what you know” kind). For ignorance of the “how you behave” kind, read the following carefully.
My policy about violations is simple: You get a lifetime ban for your first offense. No warnings. No negotiations¹. Because nobody has time for that shit. I take pathological delight in being capricious and hair-triggered in this regard. Play nice and we can all enjoy the experience; play otherwise and the rest of us will thoroughly enjoy your absence.
¹ There is no formal appeal process and in most cases, the ban will stand, but I reserve the right to make exceptions if the culprit can convince me it was an honest mistake. But fair warning: I am very hard to convince.
